A key attraction here is the Mendenhall Glacier, an impressive 12 mile long glacier located downtown of Juneau. Mount Juneau provides an impressive back drop. Ketchikan is known as the Salmon Capital of the World and has more totem poles than any where else in the world! This is a diverse city and we can recommend it as a great port for souvenir shopping or for the adventurous, a trek to the top of Deer Mountain is well worth it for some spectacular views.
