Century Class - Celebrity's hugely popular original class of ship

Century Class – 'mid-sized' Celebrity Century and Celebrity Mercury make up our elegant Century Class. Tastefully decorated and reminiscent of classic ocean liners – but with a stylish modern feel – they're a firm favourite with guests preferring a slightly smaller ship. Both feature our signature AquaSpa® by Elemis® and Michael's Club while Celebrity Century's Martini Bar also boasts a unique ice bar the first at sea.

Stunning inside and out, both of Celebrity's Century Class 'mid-sized' ships have been comprehensively upgraded to incorporate the latest features and amenities. Of special note are their museum-quality art collections, charting the development of contemporary art since the 1960s and including famous works by artists such as Warhol, Picasso, Hockney and Jasper Johns – a 'must see' for all art lovers. Celebrity Century's stem-to-stern $55 million refurbishment in 2006 included the addition of the first 'I e bar' at sea (a liquid bar counter frozen into rock-hard I e), a fitting venue for Celebrity's signature Martini Bar. In addition, the AquaSpa® by Elemis® was enhanced, staterooms upgraded and 314 balconies added. Celebrity Mercury followed suit in 2007 with new balconies added to staterooms, as well as an upgrade to the entire pool deck.

Dining Options – as you'd expect, our Century Class ships have a wide range of dining venues to tempt guests. The elegant two-tiered main dining room is reminiscent of those found aboard the great ocean liners of the 1930s – large picture windows provide uninterrupted sea views on three sides, while alcoves add intimate dining spaces should you wish to dine on your own. On Celebrity Century, a Sushi Café has been added to the Casual Dining Boulevard and there's also the unique Murano speciality restaurant*, decorated with handmade Venetian Murano Glass chandeliers – a dining experience not to be missed.

Michael's Club – a true Celebrity classic, this intimate piano bar offers you a warm, cosy ambiance with rich wood and leather furnishings, subtle lighting and soothing live jazz. It's just the place to savour an aperitif before dinner or a single malt scotch at the end of your day.

Cova Café Milano – serving an extensive range of coffees, fresh pastries, delectable chocolates and liqueurs, and located in a prominent position in the ship, the Cova Café* is the place to see and be seen. Whether your preference is espresso, Cappuccino, or latte – the Café is a well-known Celebrity signature venue enjoyed aboard both these ships.

Indoor Swimming Pool – in addition to the main pools on de k, Celebrity Mercury is unique among our fleet in offering you an indoor swimming pool covered by a retractable glass roof, so that you can make the most of the weather during your cruise. *Additional charges apply.

Hawaii

Hawaii is  frequently designated as a ‘paradise.’ Think of sculpted cliffs and coral-reef cities. It's Pacific Rim cuisine, fiery volcanoes and cavorting whales. By serendipity and design, Hawaii is an almost flawless destination. It’s an enchanting multicultural society with roots in Polynesia Asia, North America and Europe and it’s an expression of nature at its most luscious and divine.

The Hawaiian Islands exist because of a hot spot beneath the earth’s slow-moving Pacific Plate, which has been spewing lava and creating islands for 70 million years. Today, the state of Hawaii contains eight main islands, only six of which are populated.

Measure for measure, the Hawaiian islands are as diverse as it gets. Their flora and fauna are a textbook case of Darwinian evolution. Time and time again, single migratory species blossomed into dozens of variations, as isolated individuals adapted to arid coastal deserts, rain forests and snow-capped subarctic mountaintops. As a result, the majority of Hawaiian plants and animals are endemic, and nearly as often, endangered.

All the islands have similar climates: southwestern coasts are sunny, dry and lined with sandy beaches, while the northeastern sides have lush rain forests, cascading waterfalls and pounding surf. Hawaii enjoys warm weather year-round, with coastal temperatures averaging a high of 83°F (28°C) and a low of 68°F (20°C). Summer and fall are the driest seasons, winter the wettest.
