Passengers with mobility needs will find them well catered for when booking a cruise holiday. Many ships feature specially adapted cabins for disabled or less mobile passengers, and are able to provide assistance and help as and when required.
Cabins with additional accessibility Most modern cruise ships come equipped with specially adapted cabins for wheelchair use and with mobility aids to provide help when required. Some features may include wider doors for easy access, large shower areas including wet rooms, ramps for balcony access, grab rails, additional space for wheelchair use and more.
- Please note some ships, especially older vessels are not recommended for passengers who require mobility access due to a lack of available facilities. We will happily discuss your individual needs and help you find the right ship for you!
Facilities onboard Many cruise ships will provide additional assistance to passengers who require it at port, which includes lowered reception and passenger relations counters, help with embarkation and disembarkation, pool hoists, larger lift doors and enhanced public areas, dining to suit your needs and much more
- Facilities vary by ship and some vessels may not include all or any of the above features. Please ask for details.
Shore excursions If you require assistance on any shore excursions you book, we strongly recommend that you book these well in advance of your cruise departing, to ensure that all arrangements can be made to accommodate your needs. If you choose to wait until onboard, whilst the cruise lines will attempt to provide the assistance you require, this cannot be guaranteed as on many occasions it will rely on the availability of equipment in port.
A ramp or electric lift can be arranged with many cruise lines to ensure you are able to enjoy the full range of bus tours and shore excursions. If you require any additional assistance please let us know at the time of booking so we can provide as much information as possible, to ensure you get the very best out of your cruise holiday.
- Please note that some ports ships anchor at sea and access to shore is provided by tender. Restrictions may apply to passengers who require wheelchairs or mobility scooters in these destinations.
